Assignment 2: STILL LIFE WITH NATURAL LIGHT SERIES

Ideation

For this project we had to use food as a main object.

I’ve chosen food that I consume on daily basis so I took photograph some of my ingredients and snacks.

I wanted to take food that is simply cooked. Because I’ve never focused original form of food that I eat daily basis. I thought this can be really interesting idea to start on this project.

while I was taking egg photo, I wanted to boil the egg and then I wanted to see the difference of how the egg would look before and after.

Setup

I utilized black char with black mouse pad for the background. I set char next to window. I took photos in 2 days.

Reflection

Shooting photos with black background makes good contrast with objects. Also, it is easy to focus on main object. Moreover, adding plate makes light reflection easy to see. Editing process change the feature of objects. For example, adding contrast in each image makes better quality at light reflection in photograph. Also, changing value of texture make image more realistic. I love adding more value on texture. It helps image to see more details. I didn’t expect that simple object becomes good art. I would like to try and see the difference when I take some photo outside as same object.
